Weathered Northumberland Tree at sunset
I'd past this tree many times and eventually decided to stop on the way back from a trip to Holy Island.
Unfortunately, I'd missed the best of the light, but as the sun dipped below the horizon, the light created some wonderful moody cloud definition and really brought out the tree.
You can just imagine some of the conditions this lone tree has endured over the years. I've been back since this was taken, but the field is now full of cows, which makes it inaccessible. As far as I'm aware, I'm the only photographer to have ever taken this shot, so there's only the one photograph of it that exists.
